Amy & Fritz-Julius - New York Meets Dresden at Albrechtsberg Castle.
Some love stories travel far before they find their home. Amy and Fritz-Julius met in New York City in 2016. It took a global pandemic, six months of digital connection across continents for what had begun as a meeting to become something undeniable. When they finally decided to get married, there was only one place that made sense: Dresden, the city Fritz had known since childhood and shown Amy in the summer of 2023.
They came to us through Aniko Weddings our founding brand, the company Anikó Arzner has been building since 2008. MyCastleWedding grew from that same foundation: the same team, the same expertise, the same commitment to creating celebrations that feel completely personal in completely extraordinary places. Amy and Fritz-Julius were among the couples who shaped what MyCastleWedding became.

The ceremony at Frauenkirche Dresden
The Frauenkirche, a baroque masterpiece rebuilt after its wartime destruction as a symbol of peace and reconciliation, is not just a beautiful church. It is one of the most meaningful spaces in Germany, a building that carries the weight of history and the lightness of renewal simultaneously.
Amy entered to Wagner's famous wedding march, her Pronovias gown, richly decorated with floral appliqués moving through the candlelight of one of the most photographed interiors in Saxony. A string quartet and the Frauenkirche organ performed Bach's Air on the G String. Guests fell silent. Some wept.
This is what it means to get married in a heritage venue. Not just beauty meaning.
The reception at Schloss Albrechtsberg
From the Frauenkirche, the celebration moved to Schloss Albrechtsberg, the late-classical castle that sits enthroned on a hill above the Elbe, its neoclassical facades rising above terraced gardens with views across the river to the baroque skyline.
The floral design by Florale Manufaktur centered on white, ivory and soft pink: a palette that allowed the castle's architecture to remain the dominant statement. A dramatic floral arch installation became the backdrop for countless photographs and the visual anchor of the evening.
The multi-course dinner was served in the castle's grand ballroom, where the proportions and craftsmanship of the 19th century created an atmosphere that no modern venue can manufacture. Great food. Great wine. Great company. The combination that makes a wedding feel real.
The moments that made it theirs
Two moments defined the evening in the way that only happens when a couple is genuinely themselves.
The first: Baumstamm sägen. Amy and Fritz-Julius sawed through a log together in the castle courtyard, the traditional German ritual that symbolizes the first challenge a couple overcomes as partners. For an American bride and her German groom, the gesture carried extra weight. Two cultures, one saw, one log, one marriage.
The second: fireworks. A surprise, the sky above Dresden lit up in red and white above the castle and the Elbe. Guests stopped. Glasses paused mid-air. Then the cheering started.
The dancing that followed lasted until the early hours. The final song was Frank Sinatra's New York, New York. A transatlantic love story, completed.
